ANOTHER week of Savannah arts & culture happenings! Many thanks to the folks sending in their events. We’re looking forward to connecting the Savannah community together, one week at a time.

Tuesday, Nov. 5

Tongue: Open Mouth and Music Show at The Sentient Bean 

Feeling particularly witty or verbose? Finally got some cool notes down on the accordion? Join the performers at Tongue, an open mic night the first and third Tuesday of every month at the Sentient Bean. All ages welcome, performers can do poetry, comedy, and music. Sign up at 6:30 p.m., with the show at 7 p.m. Free to watch and participate. The Sentient Bean, 13 E. Park Ave. 

Wednesday, Nov. 6

Free Yoga in the Park 

This ain’t your typical lululemon yoga class. Get your stretch on with free yoga in the park this and every wednesday at 6 p.m. with instructor Danette “Dani B.” Bauer. Each class is sixty minutes, and open to all skill levels, with breathwork, inclusive language, physical modifications. Bring a mat, water, make a new friend. Class sponsored by Collins Quarter, behind their building, on the north side, in Forsyth Park. 

The Book Lady Hosts Poet Leslie Sainz with Georgia Poetry Circuit 

Get into the dark academia spirit with a poetry reading at The Book Lady with Leslie Sainz through the Georgia Poetry Circuit. Sainz is the author of Have You Been Long Enough at Table), won the Audre Lorde prize, and has been in the Yale Review, American Poetry Review, and elsewhere. Friday, Nov. 8

Social Club for Young Professionals, Square 25 Holds “Tortured Professionals Department” 

New social club for young professionals (20s-40s) is holding their next gathering at the Lost Square, the hotel Alida’s rooftop bar. Beware Swifties, the only Taylor Swift-themed thing here is the name,. Their featured drink is “The Alchemy.” $2 of each drink is being donated to the Red Cross to help hurricane relief efforts. The event is free but registration is encouraged. More info on their instagram @squaretwentyfive_savannah. 

Pounce Cat Cafe Holds After Hours “Pawjama” Party 

Hang with some cool cats after hours at Savannah’s cat cafe, Pounce Cat Cafe and Wine Bar, for their “pawjama party.” Wear your pajamas, enjoy complimentary refreshments, games, eye and face masks, and unlimited kitty cuddles from 8-10 p.m. Tickets are $40. Sunday, Nov. 10

Inaugural Georgia Oyster Revival 

Are you into the local oyster scene? Join the Education Community Oysters (ECO) folks at Starland Yard, as they bring local chefs and fresh oysters from Georgia growers together for a night of education and community engagement. Have bites from eleven local chefs and restaurants, beer from three breweries, wines, and cocktails, and music by Captain’s Brunch. VIPs from 3-4 p.m., regular folks 4-7 p.m. Tickets start at $125, Starland Yard. Check out @eco.georgia on Instagram for more information. 

SCAD Museum Free Days 

Did you know the SCAD museum is free and open to the Savannah community the second Sunday of every month? Me neither. Now we both do. Residents of Chatham, Bryan, Effingham, Liberty, Beaufort, and Jasper counties are welcome. 12- 5 p.m. 601 Turner Blvd.
