This first creative and entertainment calendar marks the beginning of the Savannahian’s burgeoning arts and Savannah happenings highlight. Listings will include general information as well as commentary. More to come as we get into the groove of things!

Fall Reading Club at the Flannery O’Connor Home
Feeling extra southern gothic this time of year? Why not pay the patron saint of southern gothic literature herself, Flannery O’Connor and her home a visit as they hold a meeting discussing some of her beloved favorite tomes.
“From Flannery O’Connor’s published collection of letters from 1948 to 1964, The Habit of Being, the Flannery O’Connor Childhood Home has selected novels, plays, short stories, and essays that Flannery read and discussed with her correspondents to read and discuss with you in the parlor of her childhood home.”
The fall club selection is T.S. Eliot’s play "Murder in the Cathedral", the story of the murder of St. Thomas Becket, Archbishop of Canterbury, by King Henry II’s hirelings.
They’ll lead a spirited discussion on martyrdom and the relationship between church and state, moderated by Anna Stenburg.
Free and open to the public, though not ADA accessible. 207 E. Charlton St. Got an event/class/meeting we should showcase? Email lilamillermedia@gmail.com.
